The opening ceremony for a regular meeting was conducted in accordance with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ritual; the meeting opened at 1105 hours by Post Senior Vice Commander Brozowski. Opening prayers were given by Comrade Stevens.

    READING OF MINUTES: The Minutes from the 12 Sep 2023 meeting have been posted on the Post website and distributed via email.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by comrade Brozowski, seconded by comrade Bridges, no discussion, motion approved.


    QUARTERMASTER’S REPORT: QM Aukshun informed us that all is good financially. A motion to accept the QM report was made by comrade Aukshun, seconded by comrade Brozowski, no discussion, motion approved.

    A motion was made by Comrade Aukshun to accept all committee reports, seconded by

    Comrade Grider, no discussion, motion approved.


    REMEMBER OUR NATIONAL HOME: A prayer was said by comrade Dzurissin in remembrance of our National Home.

    UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

    • The school repair project at the Comprehensive High School in Bontoc, Mountain Province is still on going, although delayed for an undetermined period of time due to some changed activities at the school. Comrade Russian provided us with an update and will continue to monitor its progress.


    NEW BUSINESS:

      • The VFW Commander in Chief will be visiting various locations in the Philippines beginning October 15th.   He will visit Bauang on the 15th for a brief stop to visit the St. Peters church before departing the following day.  A motion was made by comrade Brozowski to approve 5,000 pesos for a social/luncheon to be held at the Go Resort in Bauang, motion seconded by comrade Dzurissin, no discussion, motion approved. Anyone interested in visiting St Peter and Paul Church, in Baung with the CINC entourage meet at the Go Resort at 1400 on the 15th. A Meet and Greet get together will follow at the Go Resort, following the church visit, from 1600 to 1700. 

        • The Naguillian High School is in need of addition funds to complete a bathroom project that was initiated earlier this year. Comrade Aukshun made a motion to allocate an amount not to exceed 5,000 pesos for this project.  Motion seconded by comrade Dzurissin, some discussion, motion approved.
        • Commander Spain informed us of a classroom construction project at the North Central Elementary School in Moncada, Tarlac. Comrade Dzurissin made a motion to approve 24,790 pesos for this project, seconded by comrade Brozowski, no discussion, motion approved.


    GOOD OF THE ORDER:

        • Commander Spain reinforced the need for members to report all services that they provide in the community, no matter how small.
        • The 79th Leyte Gulf Landings anniversary commemoration at the MacArthur Landing National Park in Palo, Leyte will be held on October 20, 2023. If you are interested in attending, make your transportation and hotel reservations early.  This event will be attended by the VFW Commander in Chief and high-ranking officials from the Philippine government. 
        • We would like to welcome the Glenn W. McDole post 12224 (Palawan) to District 7. The initiation ceremony will be held at the Best Western Plus hotel, Rizal Ave. Ext., Puerto Princess City, Palawan on October 22, 2023 (afternoon).  Comrade Roscoe McGlynn will be the commander elect.  Once post 12224 is officially on line and Comrade McGlynn accepts the position of Post Commander, he will resign from his current position in Post 9892 as Trustee #2.  Comrade Aukshun made a motion, at the Sept. meeting, to nominate comrade Mesaros to fill the Trustee #2 position, which he has accepted.  Motion seconded by comrade Bridges, no discussion, motion approved.
        • CHILI COOKOFF:  This year’s Chili Cookoff will be held at Bella’s annex, same location as last year, on November 25, 2023.  Tickets have been printed, contact Comrade Aukshun for your tickets.  Each member is asked to sell one book of raffle ticket for 5,000 pesos (10 tickets per book).  More will be available upon request.  There will be three cash prizes, 50,000 pesos, 15,000 pesos and 5,000 pesos.  Attached is this year’s CCO invitation letter and entry form.  Let’s send these out to anyone you know that may be interested in participating in this event wives.  We have received this year’s CCO calendars that will be sold at the event.  This year we will have these calendars available in two choices of colors, Blue or Red.
