The opening ceremony for a regular meeting was conducted in accordance with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ritual; the meeting opened at 1100 hours by Post Commander Spain. Opening prayer was given by Comrade Rodgers.

Commander Spain made the following temporary appointment.  Comrade Rodgers will be the Chaplain for today’s meeting.

READING, REFERRING MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS: Allan Pulley, Larry Jackson, Gary Johnson, Renaldo Corpus and Jesus Cuaresma applications have been reviewed and approved by the membership committee.  A motion to was made by Comrade Aukshun to accept them into Post 9892, seconded by comrade Webber, no discussion, motion approved.


READING OF MINUTES: The Minutes from the 13 February 2024 meeting have been posted on the Post website and distributed via email.  A motion to accept the minutes was made by Commander Spain, seconded by comrade Aukshun, no discussion, motion approved.


QUARTERMASTER’S REPORT: QM Aukshun informed us that all is good financially.   A motion to accept the QM report, subject to audit, was made by comrade Aukshun, seconded by comrade Rodgers, no discussion, motion approved.  (Note: The February QM report has also been audited).  We are up to date with QM reports and audits.

READING OF BILLS: None 

OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE: Notification of changes to the Agent Orange approved exposure locations and further details are included in the attached Service Officer Report.

COMRADE OR FAMILY OF A COMRADE IN DISTRESS:

  • Comrades Ransom, Wilkes and Kiper are still homebound. We wish them a speedy recovery..

  • CCO – Chili Cook Off:  The theme for the 2024 (31st Chili  Cook Off) will be Dynamite Chili (by unanimous vote).  More information will be provided in the coming months.


    A motion was made by Comrade Rodgers to accept all committee reports, seconded by

    Comrade Aukshun, some discussion, motion approved.


    REMEMBER OUR NATIONAL HOME : A prayer was said by comrade Rodgers in remembrance of our National Home.

    UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

    • Nominations for the next term will remain open until the April 2024 meeting at present the nominees are:

    NEW BUSINESS:

    • At the last meeting comrade Brozowski proposed a Community Service Project to outfit a new barangay health center with the basic medical equipment required to operate. Comrade Brozowski will submit a detailed list of items and contact Jason Couch at National to determine if the project would qualify for a grant. The post initially approved P60,000 for the project. Comrade Brozowski will keep us updated on the status.
    • Comrade Aukshun suggested that we create a larger meeting room, with AC within our Post Home at the Elyu Grill and Resto Bar. We may be able to accomplish this with donated materials.  He will talk to the owner and provide us an update at the next meeting.
    • We are looking into purchasing a laptop computer for selected officer positions in the post, up to $500 each. More info will be provided at the next meeting.


    GOOD OF THE ORDER:

    • by Comrade John Kelly was nominated to be a member of PT 7. A motion was made comrade Aukshun to approve his acceptance into the Cooties, seconded by comrade Webber, no discussion, motion approved.
